Love at First Flight: A Guide to Airport Dating Apps

While not everyone is super keen to make it into the Mile High Club, who could be opposed to a little love at first flight? There are 3 airport dating apps that will lead you to just that. Swipe right and you may just have the best flight of your life. But swipe left and you might spend your entire layover avoiding eye contact…

Nevertheless, airport dating apps are a great way to meet new people before you board. Who knows, your love at first flight might be sitting in the seat next to you!

We talk a lot about what there is to do at the airport. Now we’re raising the question of who.

Happy flying and swiping.

Btrfly – “The Tinder for airports”

Btrfly aims to connect people travelling on business or people looking to make new friends, but who says a little love at first flight isn’t possible too? It helps connect people by letting you browse who’s nearby, who’s on which flight and who you might have time to meet at the gate. Long layover? Browse Btrfly to see who to meet for a pint. Hey, anything is possible.

Wingman – “Never Fly Alone”

This app claims to make “flying suck less” and we think they might be right. When you’re waiting around the airport alone, it can get a little boring. Wingman’s promise is that you’ll be able to connect “with attractive people on your flight, all before you touch down.” The app hasn’t quite launched yet but you can sign up to receive more info about when it will on their website.

Lounger – “Join the Mile High Club”

Let’s get straight to the point on this one: the aim with Lounger isn’t exactly pointed at love at first flight. But that’s okay. Sometimes a sneaky rendezvous is all you’re looking for. Lounger lets you sign in at the airport and find people who are wanting to go to or are already in lounges. Want to upgrade your airport experience? Find someone in the right lounge and you just might.

However, if dating apps aren’t really your thing the good old fashioned way of approaching someone is still in effect. We think.
